You can get some great mixed drinks in fish bowl glasses. The house wine is also great to sit back and enjoy by the warm stove at the rear of the bar.

He was getting... read more ready to leave because his son was competing in the County Hurling Championship in 90 minutes. The second visit was later that evening when my wife and I went for a walk. We then met the other owner, Patrick's wife Susan. They were both lovely people that chose to buy and refurbish this pub approximately 3 years ago I believe. They did a perfect job on the remodel. It is absolutely gorgeous. We met numerous local regulars. They were friendly and welcoming. If you want to go to a local place and meet real people instead of tourists, this is a great choice. FYI: The county hurling championship ended in a draw when will be replayed when we are back in the States. Perhaps someday we will find out who won.....

And here's a message for Patrick and Susan: I attempted to come back and bring my whole family on Monday evening. However, you were closed for hurricane Ophelia. 🙁 We will certainly see you again! Sláinte chugat.

No piped music, TV in the corner but was turned off - just... read more the sound of people chatting and laughing to be heard. Small and cosy bar and noticed a lovely fire at the back. Service was really good; pleasant and welcoming staff. Warm and well lit (not too dark or too bright). The night we visited the bar was filled with what might be described as an 'older' crowd - friends and couples in groups chatting and enjoying a drink. The wilder, younger crowd probably drink somewhere else and good luck to them. I'll go to Taylors if I am in Ennis again.
